Kill the Bugs | Give Your Lawn a Boost

Take Care of your Tomatoes
Right now tomatoes are especially susceptible to insects and mildew. Take care of both problems with Tomato and Vegetable Spray. Tomato and Vegetable Spray is an organic insecticide and disease control made from the clarified extract of the Neem plant. Not only will it protect your tomatoes against common diseases like Powdery Mildew, Black Spot and Rust, it will also kill AND repel aphids, spider mites, beetles and other pests!
Do you get black, rotten spots on the blossom end of your tomatoes? It’s called blossom-end rot and it’s caused by a calcium deficiency in your tomatoes. It’s a drag, but it can be easily prevented by applying Green Light’s Blossom-End Rot Spray to your tomato plants right now. It contains calcium chloride which helps correct the calcium deficiency, giving you bright red, juicy tomatoes all the way through!

Kill the Bugs
Aphids are the big problem for a lot of people right now. They get into everything; flowers, roses and even trees. So now is a great time to apply Neem Oil to your Garden. Neem Oil is a botanically derived product, made from the clarified oil of the Neem tree. It kills all three stages of insects (eggs, larvae and adults) AND effectively repels new insects for one to two weeks! It’s great for aphids, but is also effective against spider mites, beetles, stink bugs and other creepy crawlies.
How about worms? If you’ve noticed small, caterpillar like worms on your petunias and geraniums, now is the time to take care of them, too. There are a lot of dusts and sprays for worms, but one of the best is BT Worm Killer. It’s a great and effective biological insecticide that takes care of many common pest worms. Just mix the concentrate with water and apply as directed. It remains effective for a full week and won’t harm pets, birds or beneficial insects like earthworms.

Give Your Lawn a Boost
Is your lawn looking a little dry and brown? Here’s a great tip to perk it up during these dog days of summer. Put down a bag of Colorado’s Choice Iron Aide, wait a week and then apply Colorado’s Choice WaterSaver Lawn Food. The Iron Aide helps restore the green color and enrich the soil while the WaterSaver helps promote the health of the roots, giving you a lush, healthy lawn again!
This time of year, fungus and bugs (especially grubs) can cause problems in your lawn. If you’re getting circular dead spots on your lawn, you might have fungus. Just spread a granular fungicide like Bayer Fungus Control or Green Light Fung-Away on the problem spots. It’ll cure and prevent further fungus growth. If the dead grass looks more like a path than a circle, it could be bugs. Take a shovel and dig into the “path” a little. Pull up the dirt, and you should be able to see some insects or larvae. If you find some, it’s time to apply Bayer Complete Insect Control. Complete is great because it kills insects above AND below the surface, giving you broad-spectrum control.
