Goji Berries have sometimes been called “superfruit,” for their many health benefits. Though they are natives of Asia, they are very hardy and easy to grow here in Colorado. Goji berries are a bright, brilliant red that can be used fresh or dried or frozen.
Heritage is one of the most popular raspberry varieties. It’s an ever-bearing vine, meaning it produces a harvest in the summer and again in the fall. Its fruit has excellent color and firmness with a great flavor. Heritage Raspberries are just as delicious right off the vine as they are in jams or jellies.
Fort Laramie Strawberries are one of the hardiest strawberry varieties available. They are ever-bearing and yield a substantial crop of fruit throughout the season. The berries are juicy, bright red and very aromatic. Enjoy them right off the vine or in jams, preserves or pies.
Rubus idaeus
Latham Red is a variety of red raspberry known for it’s prolific production of bright red berries. These raspberries are extra large and have a great sweet flavor. They’re perfect for jams, jellies, pies, desserts, freezing and eating fresh.
Vitis labrusca
Concord grapes are seeded blue grapes that are very aromatic and perfect for cooking, juice and jelly. They grow on a vigorous vine with textured, dark green foliage. Concord grapes are hardy in our zone and do very well here in Denver.
Rubus ‘Triple Crown’
Named for its three “crowning” attributes—flavor, productivity and vigor, Triple Crown is a great thornless blackberry. Its large reddish berries are a little sweet, a little tart and very aromatic. They are great fresh, cooked or frozen.
Vaccinium 'Jersey'
Jersey blueberries are among the oldest and most widely grown blueberries in the country. They are easy to grow and produce high yields of sweet fruit. Though mostly grown for fruit, blueberry bushes are also great for hedges or shrub borders.
Fragaria ananassa
Honeoye is a June bearing strawberry, which means it produces one crop of fruit in the late spring or early summer. In general, June bearing strawberries are the highest-quality strawberries you can grow, and Honeoye is no exception. Honeoye strawberries are big and beautiful red clear through. They’re great fresh or frozen and are perfect for pies.
