First-Timers, New Neighbors & Tomato Lovers

Staff: I’m here at O’Toole’s helping with TomatoMania. I got some papers to help people find tomatoes, some stickers. Let’s do it!
Neighbor 1: We’re new to the neighborhood. We have been excited to come and check out O’Toole’s, and especially TomatoMania. Looking forward to some tomatoes this spring!
Neighbor 2: We’re checking out O’Toole’s for the first time for Tomatomania. I’m excited to check out the different varieties of tomatoes!

Tomatomania returned to O’Toole’s for a second year on May 16 and 17, and after the response we got in 2025, we went bigger: more than 100 unique varieties across both the Lakewood and Westminster stores. Heirlooms, cherries, slicers, and hard-to-find picks like Sart Roloise, Cherokee Carbon, and Black Cherry filled the tables. Partnering with Tomatomania, the sale the New York Times called “the tomato freaks’ Woodstock,” lets us bring growers and varieties to Colorado you won’t find on a big-box shelf.
What made the weekend, though, was who turned up. Our team worked the tables with variety guides and stickers, helping first-timers narrow down the options and steering longtime growers toward something they hadn’t tried yet. We met neighbors who had just moved into the area and were shopping with us for the first time, and plenty of people who were simply glad to be, as one shopper put it, “surrounded by people who share my affinity for tomatoes.” Rare varieties and limited stock sell out quickly every year, so if you missed it, keep an eye out for early-bird access next spring.
